Need a Thanksgiving turkey? Get a Free Saturday in Dover, NH

Need a Thanksgiving turkey? Wentworth-Douglass Hospital may have one for you on Saturday morning.

The hospital has received a large number of donated turkeys in recent days. He still has plenty to spare, even after donations to the Strafford County Pantry Community Action Partnership and the Rollinsford Police Department.

Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, the hospital provides approximately 600 turkeys to any Seacoast resident in need at the Wentworth-Douglass Commercial System office located at 121 Broadway in Dover (NOT the hospital itself).

Turkeys will be distributed as a drive-thru as long as the supply of turkeys continues. It is not necessary to leave the car.

Supply chain issues have increased the price of a turkey on average by about 24% this year from 2020, according to the American Farm Bureau’s Annual Thanksgiving Dinner Survey.

The average cost of this year’s “classic” Thanksgiving feast for 10 people is $ 53.31 or less than $ 6.00 per person. This is an increase of $ 6.41 or 14% from last year’s average of $ 46.90.
